Just as delicious as I dreamed this morning :)
|
Put your pork shoulder roast in your crockpot
Pour about an inch - inch and half of apple juice into the pot. |
|
Gather your ingredients
|
|
Sprinkle on Worscestershire sauce then coarse salt (Kosher or Sea), ground pepper, paprika, smoked paprika, ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder (I didn't have any onion powder this time and it still tasted great)
Pat in the spices.
Pat on a nice even coating of brown sugar
Put on the lid cook on high for at least 6 hours
I usually will flip it over about half way through. But you don't have to.
If you are going to be gone you can also start it at 8 or 9 in the morning and cook it on low.
Pull out the blade bone and any fat you can see
Drain the juices from the meat (save the juices),
Place on the cutting board, skim the fat/oil from the juices,
shred or chop pork, put back into the crockpot
Add BBQ sauce and juices to your desired taste, don't add any juices back in if you like it a little drier.
Put on a slider bun with some coleslaw, and get ready to ENJOY!
