FRUIT FLIES HELP!
I came home yesterday after a night away for baseball to FRUIT FLIES! I have tried the glass of wine to attract them but there are still a group that will not go away. Any sure fire fruit fly catching traps???? GROSS!
I had the same problem a few years ago... Very frustrating! I used fly paper, the hanging kind, and it worked well. Not cute, but you don't have to leave it up forever. They lay eggs in dirt so if you have potted plants in your house you will need to do some damage control. Either repot them or use a household plant insecticide. You can use a layer of clean sand from the hardware store but I thought it was ugly! It takes a bit of time and persistence, but I haven't had a fly since. Good luck!
Thanks Krista. I am sending Joe to get some flypaper this morning. I also heard that Venus fly traps work? So that is my plan B. Also I did what you said and moved my basil plant and my Hydrangea plant outside. So hopefully with all of that. I will be rid of these nasty pests SOON!
